The deadline for submitting bids for this year’s tender for non-pre-assessed sites under the WindSeeG expired on 1 June. The results from the Federal Network Agency are expected shortly and could be decisive for the future of offshore wind energy in Germany. As soon as the results are published, the BWO will conduct an initial analysis, followed by a detailed discussion.

On 3 July at 10 a.m., Stefan Thimm, Managing Director of the BWO, will discuss the results in detail together with Udo Schneider, Managing Director of Green Giraffe Advisory. The results will be examined, compared with the latest offshore wind auctions in Europe, the design of the German tendering system will be evaluated and important adjustments for future rounds will be identified.

The event will provide insights into the significance of the results for investment security, market competition and the expansion of offshore wind energy in Germany. It will take place as planned on 3 July at 10 a.m., regardless of when the results are published.
