Call for wind energy at the leading trade fair in Hamburg

North German federal states and associations sign the call for wind energy at the leading trade fair Windenergy Hamburg
September 26, 2018

The energy ministers and senators of the northern German states of Lower Saxony, Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania signed the 'Wind Energy Call' today (Tuesday) together with industry representatives at WindEnergy in Hamburg. In it they demand urgent energy policy decisions from the federal government. The signatories refer to the energy policy targets of the federal coalition agreement. These include, in particular, the special tenders for onshore wind energy, more capacities for offshore wind energy and the expansion, optimization and modernization of the power grids. Current reasons are the slump in the expansion figures for onshore wind energy, the likely failure of the national climate targets in 2020 and developments on the labor market.
