BWO issues an opinion on the BNetzA's 2nd assessment procedure for demand-based nighttime identification

September 18, 2020

The Federal Association of Wind Farm Operators Offshore eV has an opinion on 2. BNetzA assessment procedure issued for demand-driven night marking. We welcome the consultation process that has been initiated to set further transition periods beyond June 30, 2021. From our point of view, transition periods are absolutely necessary in order to create sufficient time to cope with the diverse challenges of BNK retrofitting. It is impossible to implement the BNK conversion offshore by next year. This also applies to the majority of the systems in the onshore area. In this context, we refer once again to the joint association letter of July 14th of this year (see below).

Against the background of the long planning and implementation horizons in the offshore area, which are also influenced by the corona pandemic, we hope that the Federal Network Agency can make a decision as soon as possible after September 11th, in order to quickly address the affected companies to give urgently needed planning security.

You can download the full statement as well as the association letter attached.
