BWO managing director, Stefan Thimm, on the publication of the Federal Compensation Ordinance (BKompV)

June 2, 2020

"With the Federal Compensation Ordinance, the federal government has created a balance between species protection and climate protection. For a successful energy transition, it is important that these two goals are not played off against each other, but are brought into harmony. There can be no species protection without climate protection. From our point of view, the result is to be welcomed. The compensation payments for interventions in nature are as low as possible under the ordinance and can now be calculated in a predictable manner. "
(Stefan Thimm, Managing Director of the Federal Association of Wind Farm Operators Offshore eV)

The BKompV was published today in the Federal Law Gazette. You can find further information on the regulation here.
