Position paper: Opinion on the draft EU implementing regulation for non-price criteria in renewable energy auctions

The European Commission has published a draft implementing regulation that redefines the tendering criteria for renewable energies. The German Offshore Wind Energy Association (BWO) welcomes the opportunity to comment on this.

In our position paper, we analyze the draft and highlight three key objectives:
• The development and maintenance of a competitive European renewable energy industry
• Supporting Member States in the application of non-price criteria
• The harmonization of the different tendering procedures in the EU

At the same time, we call for a reduction in bureaucratic burden in order to ensure the competitiveness of the European supply chain and to avoid unnecessary hurdles in the bidding process.
