Energy industry Law
Energy Industry Act (EnWG)
Together with the EEG, the EnWG forms the legal basis of the German energy industry. So it is also relevant for offshore wind energy. The EnWG came into force in 1935 and has been revised several times since then - most recently in 2011. The aim of the law is to ensure the most secure, inexpensive and environmentally friendly supply of gas and electricity possible. Among other things, it regulates issues relating to the grid connection of offshore wind farms and compensation that must be paid to the wind farm operator in the event of disruptions, maintenance or delays in the connection lines.
