Current WindSeeG draft neglects industrial policy

12 May 2022

“The critical phase has started with the parliamentary procedure. The members of parliament now also decide how attractive Germany is as a business location in an international comparison. We are convinced that there will still be a lot of movement in the coming weeks – things must move in order to get the planned acceleration of offshore expansion off the ground. In particular, little attention has been paid to the industrial policy requirements. It is simply unacceptable that in times of already very high market prices, tendering instruments should be introduced that demonstrably drive up the electricity price and weaken our domestic industry in international competition.”
