The digital event "BWO Expertise: Energy Location and Habitat – Fisheries & Aquaculture in Offshore Wind Farms" addresses the future use of offshore wind farms for fisheries and aquaculture, as well as the associated legal, ecological, and practical issues. Key recommendations of the Fisheries Future Commission regarding competition for land at sea will be discussed and next steps initiated.

The event will focus on perspectives from law, research, and practice, which will be discussed together with experts from various fields. The event responds to the final report of the Fisheries Future Commission, which addresses, among other things, the co-use of offshore wind farms for fisheries and marine aquaculture. The discussion will address current political and technical developments as well as the future role of the offshore wind industry in this process, with contributions from Prof. Dr. Bela Buck (AWI), Andrea Falldorf (Skyborn / BWO), and Prof. Dr. Winfried Huck (Ostfalia).
